From the Media Mobilizing Project –
Philadelphia’s two major newspapers have been acquired by outside investors. Comcast cable dominates the market, but thousands of our neighbors can’t afford to get online. In an era of dwindling outlets telling the stories of everyday Philadelphians, the Media Mobilizing Project has launched MMPtv, a monthly half-hour newsmagazine knitting together the stories of people across our region. The show premiered on PhillyCam, Philadelphia’s new public access television station.
This first episode centers on the growing health care crisis in our country – “Infection in Our Health Care System,” covers the recent Temple Nurses Strike, national organizing for Health Care as a Human Right, and nurses organizing to protect their patients.
